Four of the bedrooms have large private balconies, so you can enjoy the invariably magnificent sunsets and the cooling sea breezes. The private self-contained facilities are a faultless blend of Italian design and German plumbing, rounded off by luxurious Egyptian cotton towels. There is everything you could wish for here for a perfect holiday. Delfini is for example an ideal choice for two or more families sharing – and you will end your holiday still friends, we can almost guarantee it.

Lounge area

The state-of-the-art Italian-designed kitchen, the dining area and the large open plan lounge will let you display your entertainment skills to the full if you wish, or if you prefer you can simply chill out with your friends and family. Gentle sea breezes help keep the house cool in the height of summer and air conditioning ensures you remain cool even on the hottest of days. In fact you will find that Villa Delfini will almost always match itself to your needs.

Dining area & barbecue

Villa Delfini is available from April to October, so for those cooler evenings there is heating and a log-burning stove so you can enjoy the villa in early and late season. The satellite TV, DVD player and Wi-fi will keep you in touch with the rest of the world if you wish. During the long, hot summer the feature barbecue and the shaded dining area with its large table, means al-fresco dining for the entire villa - with incredible views over the huge swimming pool and across to the Bay of Chania.

Swimming pool

The outside seating area, designed for comfort rather than formality, is perfect for a relaxing drink at sunset. Steps lead down from there to the beautiful pool area, fully equipped with sun loungers and parasols. The pool is very large; so you can lounge on your inflatable or you can stage a competitive game of water polo if you wish. There is also a separate, shallow toddler’s area.

Nearby places

Nearby, nestling at the foot of Zorba's mountain, is the village of Stavros. This traditional village is flanked by two beautiful sandy beaches equipped with parasols and sun loungers. The beaches are surrounded by traditional tavernas where you can enjoy a refreshing drink with the excellent, freshly cooked local cuisine. The beach at Tersanas, with its crystal clear water and welcoming beach cantina, less than five minutes drive from Delfini, is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon.

Kalathas beach is another firm favourite where you can rent paddle boards and kayaks or you can swim out to the island if you are feeling energetic. A short drive away at Kounapidiana there are three large supermarkets, markets, banks and numerous tavernas and coffee shops. The lively old-town of Chania, steeped in history, with its winding alleyways, beautiful seafront promenade and first class restaurants is only twenty minutes drive away.

Sample the excellent local wines, peruse the many small stores or take a boat trip with one of the many small vessels in the harbour. Chania and the whole of western Crete is known generally as a destination for the discerning visitor, there really is something for everyone here. (see also ‘Activities’).
